Counting Down the Days
I spent the last couple days at a beach resort on the Atlantic in Senegal. It was awesome. The water was warm, the beach was sandy with cool looking shells, there were palm trees, it wasn't too hot but was still hot enough that you wanted to go swimming, we ate great Senegalese food, I gave my 30 minute project presentation and am done with the semester, we had some good laughs and everyone spent quality time together, and at night the stars were amazing.
It was a good trip. We stayed in "huts" that looked like huts but had lofts and electricity and running water and were really clean. Last night we ate dinner by lanterns and candle light at tables on the beach beneath palm trees and under the stars in Senegal. So cool. I loved being able to take off my sandals and feel the sand between my toes while I ate.
We also went star spinning. A group of us went out to the beach at night and did this. You look up in the sky, find a star, and then start spinning as fast as you can while still looking at that star. It's hard. You fall down really quick but it is so fun cause the sand is soft. Next time you're at the beach at night you should try it. You end up laying in the sand laughing really hard. Good times.
I only have 3 more full days in Senegal. So crazy but I am really excited to come home and see people! Lots of shopping and goodbyes to do the next couple days.

Star Spinning. Good idea!
We ran into Tim at Starbucks Barkley this morning and discussed in Wolof your and Amy's return. It sounds like you are keeping a tough schedule under the palm trees and stars. We have some nice Christmas trees and some clouds here. JP3 ran the Jingle Bell run, JP2 is working and we are enjoying a nice quiet weekend fixing the van. (Engine fire, etc. yaaaawn)
See you Wednesday!
