Istanbul not Constantinople
We got up at 5:30 am on Sunday to catch a bus to the airport. Our flight from Denizli to Istanbul left at 9 am and only took 45 minutes, but would have been a really long drive. After getting to our hotel, we sat in the lobby and thought, "what continent are we on?" That is a strange question to ask considering we knew what country and city we were in. :)
Istanbul is wonderful so far. A little hotter than we expected, but generally not as hot as Denizli. We saw many awesome things today and yesterday. My favorites have been the boat ride down the Bosphorus and going inside a giant cistern that was built in 532 AD. We sang Phantom of the Opera songs when we were in it.
It was hard to say goodbye to the Van Dyk's. I will really miss them... I already do! I'll be home Wednesday afternoon (hopefully), as long as our trip home isn't like our trip to Turkey. See you all soon!
