So much I could say...

I have done a lot since I last posted, but it would take forever to tell it all. This last weekend I was on Vashon with Marissa and Holly and Heidi. It was really fun and relaxing. A lot of sitting, beach walking, coffee drinking, eating, talking. Good times. Then I spent a couple days with my beautiful friend Annie in Seattle. I really enjoyed the time we spent together. Some of the driving around got a little hectic, but we survived, right Annie? ;) I also got to hang out with Pete for a little while cause he ended up being at UCU when I was there. While in Seattle I read the book Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. I HIGHLY recommend it. Everyone should read that book...I mean it! It is so funny and random but at the same time, so real and insightful. The guy who wrote it is from Portland. I wanted to put a section of the book in this post, but there is seriously so much good stuff that I wouldn't know what to pick. I also read the rest of Life Together. Also a great book. I am too tired right now to put excerpts from them, but I probably will later. I got up at 4:53 this morning and drove north to some random smelly farm with Tommy and Christine and we watched the sunrise. It was awesome. My small group had a little BBQ in Ferndale this evening and I played boules and learned how (kinda) to hit a golf ball. Ok, sleep calls.

Random question...I have asked several people this already but...has anyone ever called jo jos something else?

I grew up calling them jo-jos but the school and Safeway always called them potato wedges. Incidentally, I never knew there was a way to eat them besides with jo-jo sauce, a sauce the local restaurant made with all sorts of stuff including lots of horseradish.

I don't know. I think I am the only one who has ever called them potato logs. Where did I get this? I am pretty sure I didn't come up with it myself.

I googled "potato logs" and other people in this world call them that too! I am not sure if they are quite the same thing...but at least I know I'm not crazy!

I refuse to eat anything with the word "LOG" in the name.

You are certifiably insane. Whatever "other people in the world" may call them (aren't we not sposed to be part of that crowd anyway?) does not bear on the argument. "Potato log" my eye. Harrumph.
