La plage et la piscine

This weekend I swam a lot. Saturday Amy and I got tired of having kids hanging all over us and touching us all the time, so we escaped to the beach. It was an awesome beach. I have never felt ocean water that warm. I am used to the water feeling like knives are going through the bottom of your feet. There were palm trees and white sand with out any rocks. It was cool. I am definitly going back there.

Sunday we went to the pool with a ton of kids that didn't know how to swim. Oh and the adults didn't know how to either. I am thankful that my parents taught me how to swim. Something I take for granted! Anyways, everyone was hanging all over us, and the little kid pool was closed so they had to swim in the olympic size pool, and therefore couldn't touch the ground. I couldn't touch either and they were choking me. It is difficult to swim like that.

It has been fun to spend time with my family here. It gets annoying sometimes when all the speak is Wolof, but I continue to learn each day. In a week we leave for a village stay, and then go to two other cities, Thies and St. Louis. I'll be gone for 2 weeks.

The rest of this week we have class and I am doing ceramics in the afternoon. I've never done it before. Hope it isn't like my djembe experience.

I took my shoutbox out cause someone put nasty stuff on it, so if I have time maybe I will put it back later. For now, just make comments on the posts.

Amina, you should go swimming more often!

Do you think a nice game of Marco Polo would be a hit?

How about swim lessons for the kids? 1, 2, 3, 4, fiiiiiive....

Have fun getting to the sandy beach again soon, watch out for Jaws, Nemo, Moby and Willy.
