Homestay Day #2

My second day with my family was way better than the first day. Dinner was a little stressful but everything else was great. The shower turned out to be not so bad...once you get out the herbal essence it helps with the sour nasty smell. I love all the people...all 15 or so of them that live with me. They are so much fun. Senegalese people know how to laugh. It seems like everyone is always smiling and laughing.

It is so cool that Amy lives across the street from me cause she just comes over after dinner and hangs out with everyone. There is a little 2 year old that is so cute. Her name is bebe Fa. I don't know how to spell that. But she dances and talks and whispers things in our ears that Amy and I don't understand. My older sisters here are very helpful and have been translating for me and are teaching me Wolof. It is hard.

I gotta go learn some more jembe and dance. I liked the jembe yesterday, except the guy just taught us one beat that we did the whole time. It got old really fast. The dance wasn't my favorite, but it's probably because it is so jerky and fast. After 8 years of ballet, I guess I am partial to more graceful and fluid dancing.

Good Job, Amina! You are tough so I know you can handle it there with your huge family. At least your friend Amy is near! That is a huge blessing! Its good to hear you are doing so incredible. I hope you find time to play with the goat.
