Monkeys?!!!!
It is currently 5:11 am in Dakar and I have been up for exactly 24 hours. We left Kedougou this morning at 6 am. The bus ride, which felt more like the bumpiest roller coaster I have ever been on, was about 14 hours long. Too much sitting.
Right now I am at the Atlantic Club in Dakar. It is an American club situated right on the ocean and is pretty nice with a pool, little kid playground, lots of trees and tables and they sell good stuff like ice cream! The American embassy is hosting an all night party so all the Americans in the country can watch the elections together and hang out. They have been providing free snacks through out the night and have CNN on a big screen for everyone to see. I am so tired right now. I didn't sleep at all on the bus today and last night I slept for 4 hours. Yeah...and I have class at 10 this morning. Should be fun.
I will write more about my adventures in Kedougou later when I have more time and I am not so sleepy, but one of the coolest things I saw was... MONKEYS!!!!!! Yes, I saw not just one, not two, not even three, but HUNDREDS of monkeys! It was amazing. They were just chillin on the main road that goes between Dakar and Kedougou. We just drove by. It would have been cool to get out and see them but they all ran away anyways. So yeah, I am very satisfied to have seen so many.
OK, I might leave this place soon and go try to get some sleep. Or else Amy and I are thinking of buying ice cream and going to the beach. Mmmmmm... breakfast. Later!
