Bon Voyage
Today I go to a village for 3 nights. I am told there will be a lot of sitting invloved. I am also told it is REALLY hot where we are going. No electricity either. Hmmm...I kinda like my fan at my house here. Should be a good trip! I brought a couple books. Two C.S. Lewis books. My brain is gonna hurt by the end of the 4 days.
After the village we go to Thies for one night, then to St. Louis until Oct. 7. I guess we get to stay in a nicer hotel there, which will be a good change after the village.
This weekend my older sister Absa put a million little braids in my hair. It took 4 hours to do my whole head. My butt hurt really bad after sitting on the floor that long. But I got to watch a lot of soccer on tv in the process. I love how they love soccer here. What is wrong with America? They just don't realize what they are missing.
So...I know I said there was a goat living on my roof...now it is the mystery animal. Amy and I are convinced it is a goat. But, my family tells me it is a sheep. I don't know. When I get back from my trip I will try to take a picture of it and put it on here so you guys can be the judge. Do goats have long or short tails? Amy refuses to believe it is a sheep. Anyways, gotta run! Ba ci kanam!

Hey City Girl, Know your goats! American Goats have spooky yellow eyes with vertical looking iris thingys. They say "Na ah ah ah ah ah".
Sheep, however, have short fat tails and cute round eyes and say "baaah" or sometimes "Aaaaaaaanne", "Join us".
Also, I believe it is a little harder to milk a sheep. Although in the Arctic, Dall's Sheep which you would maybe call a Mountain Goat have those nice curly horns and speak Wolof.
And, Goats like to butt people for fun! Its a good joke. So, drop some loose Sengalese change around on the roof and see if the Shoat / Geep charges when the kids are bent over picking up the coins. No charge = sheep or lazy goat.
Finally, goat eyeballs go better with Ketchup and Sheep eye treats are more of a chocolate sauce thingy. So keep an eye on the dinner sauce when the thing disappears...
No, really, it was my pleasure helping!
Hey Miss Paxton,
I know there were tons of so called sheep in kenya which definately looked like goats. it must be an african thing. You'll probably find out when you eat it:-)
I love reading your entries! It looks like you are having an amazing time. I am very jealous.
Just wanted to let you know i was thinking about you.
